We got engaged at the Seattle Temple on Valentine's Day 2009!
The Story of Austin & Emily:
It all started when Emily received a flirt message from a handsome prince named Austin on her LDSplanet.com profile on December 21, 2008. He was from Bonney Lake. Emily asked if he was doing okay with the terrible snow storms they had been having in Washington. He said he had some trouble getting around but was otherwise okay. He told Emily that he thought he saw her at a 5-Stake Young Single Adult FHE activity a few weeks earlier (auction dating). Emily felt bad because he had seen her but she had not seen him. :( Well,...they got to writing back and forth and finally met in person the following Saturday for their first date two days after Christmas. They tried to see each other almost every single day and soon became a couple on January 3rd 2009. Just a few weeks later, they fell in love and soon talked about marriage. Both their families were getting frustrated because Austin and Emily had not gotten engaged yet but they had been making tentative plans. :D Valentine's Day was coming around the corner and all of Emily's co-workers were telling her that Austin would propose to her on Valentine's Day, yet they were also telling her not to expect anything or she would be disappointed. Emily knew that it wasn't going to happen because her and Austin were having dinner with her parents and another couple at Famous Dave's in Puyallup. Dinner was fabulous and it was time to head home. Emily thought that they were heading home to color Austin's hair after dinner. Emily fell asleep in the car and was woken up at the Seattle Temple. Austin took Emily by the hand and they walked to the front of the temple. They slowly walked around the water fountain and stopped to look at the gorgeous Temple all lit up. Austin told Emily that there's this feeling that people get when they're at the Temple. A feeling of peace, calmness, time stands still, and no worries over come you. Austin told Emily, "That's the way I feel when I'm with you!" Austin then got down on one knee, opened the little black box and asked Emily to be his wife and to spend all eternity with him! Emily was in shock and of course said, "YES!" She couldn't believe that the man of her dreams had finally come and has swept her off her feet and now has a hold on her for all eternity! Austin and Emily are planning on a June wedding and are so excited that they want it to come faster! It seems so far away for them but its only the beginning of the journey they'll spend together FOREVER!!!
